Chocolate Bunny

I could sense it in my future,

the thought of it tantalizing;

my refrigerator containing the whole of its being.

Five days have passed since the holiday,

the pentacle of protection at its peak,

However, its offering is inevitable—

the old gods demand a sacrifice.

I know once I begin,

there can no way back for me.

The spoils of chocolate gluttony,

fertile in my mind

can not longer be denied.

I am cruel,

a monster to be sure…

I begin always with the ears,

leaving the creature

in a world of silence.

I am predatory in my approach—

gnawing off chunks,

allowing the defenseless body to melt upon my tongue.

The beast has no future—

there is no redemption for me.
