The sea has carried the black riches of the world.

It carried slaves.

It carried oil,

and the black hearts of white men.

When riches were spilled,

blood and oil,

sickening   sickening

the sea and all within,

drowning the beasties—

the hearts of men and women,

Greed like oil,

spreading on the waters—

all the riches black hearts

thought they’d gain,

sickening    sickening.
