do not despair
nor let the jealousy of Athena drive you
to such self-injurous acts—
use that rope,
that lynch knot,
weave yourself into nature’s beauty—
catch the morning light with dew.
Goddesses can be catty.
from such destructive bonds.
Planter of seeds,
Bringer of sun and fire,
Creator of the moon and light—
let us sing your praises in poetry,
weave the stories of your teachings.
Bringer of blessings,
bestow upon the people goodness.
Remind us of the lessons of creativity
and of learning.
