Dancer

Listening to beautiful music,

I become an umbrella

caught in the rhythms,

tumbling down

a piano key road—

a feather in the whirl wind of notes,

spinning,

dancing.

Satin toe shoes

running along,

falling in love,

then,

heart broken in the rain

of the piece.

Soft and gentle

upon the window pane

of the song.

Mesmerized by

Paris,

the drizzle,

the spring,

the storm of the song.

I can listen to it again

and again,

romantically involved

with the piece

swaying in my mind,

heart,

feet tender lovers with the keys,

on point along the scale.
