The heart is at the center of our being, not just physically, but also figuratively. The English language is full of wonderful euphuisms like, “Put your heart into it,” “Don’t wear your heart on your sleeve,” or “That guy’s all heart.” There are many, many more, but the truth is that the heart doesn’t just fill our language; it fills our souls and our spirit! With Valentine’s Day waiting to rise with the morning sun, I find that it is an opportunity to talk about ways to bring love into your life. Now not cheesy, Hallmark Valentine’s Day cards and such, real love vibrations of all sorts. Here are some ways that you can incorporate love energy into your life.
- I am loved.
- I allow love into my life.
- I am open to giving and receiving love.
- Love is unconditional and I deserve it
Here are just a few. You can create ones that fit your need best. Put them on sticky notes on your mirror in the bathroom so you start and end your day with this mindset. It will change you. Put it in the car, on the refrigerator, computer screen, next to the TV. Put them everywhere, change them up periodically.
The warm flame and glow of a candle can add to feelings of love and romance in a room. Try a pink or green candle for soft love vibrations of the higher or lower heart chakras. Candles can have affirmations on them, symbols, oils, scented, crystals, herbs, endless lists of possibilities.
Crystals that are love or forgiveness inspired:
Try them in jewelry or around your house or car, make a medicine bag, pouch or satchel.
Rose quartz is great, but also amethyst, malachite, aventurine, jade, ruby, garnet…
Think of crystals that are pink, reddish, or green in hue.
Essential oils have their own vibration and can help you to raise yours. Here is a list of oils that help with the heart opening:
Rose, Palma Rosa, Rosewood, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, to name a few.
Here are a couple oil recipes:
Here is my secret heart chakra opening oil…

4 drops of hyssop oil
Mix in 2 oz. of carrier oil of your choice.
Here is my secret formula for self-love oil, I can’t ever keep this in stock!!
6 drops of Rose oil
8 drops of Ylang Ylang
6 drops of Rose wood
5 drops of Roman Chamomile
12 drops of Palma Rosa
Mix in 3 oz. of carrier oil of your choice
Herbs or teas:
Rose petal tea to me is pure love. I also like lavender, jasmine, and other soft herbals, hibiscus comes to mind. Recently, I was given this fabulous clear glass tea pot with blooming flower teas, it in incredible to watch, beautiful to look at, and delicious to drink. As I feel the warm tea running down my throat, I know that I am loved.
Doing exercises, meditations or other things to open your heart chakra is a great way to keep all of those love vibes flowing. Try a yoga class or just a visualization of all of that energy coming into you. If you know Reiki, that is another great way to experience the flow of positive love energy.
Flowers associated with love:
Roses have the highest vibration. Fill a room with roses year round. It could be in images, words, scents or the actual flower, they become more reasonable after Valentine’s Day. However, any flower could represent love to you. There are bleeding hearts, lotus blossoms, daisies, peonies are always so romantic. Think outside the box. Maybe it’s some other plant. Something someone gifted you like an orchid, a bonsai tree, or plants in your garden that you and a loved one planted. In some traditions, a tree is planted when a child is born, as the child grows so does the tree. That tree is the embodiment of love, gazing upon it or an image of it will certainly lift your vibrations.
Books of love poetry, romantic books, Novels like the, “Le Princessa de Cleves” by Madame de La Fayette, “Doctor Zivago” by Boris Pasternak, and other types of books. Love letters are incredibly romantic and simply ooze love vibrations. It doesn’t matter if the letters are yours, a family member’s, like your parents or grandparents, or even from famous people or strangers, the vibration is there and it is intense.
Try greens, pinks, reds, lavenders, purples, magentas, all wonderful for vibrating at love frequencies.
Heart shapes are obvious symbols of love. You can wear hearts, have them around your house in the forms of soaps, crystals, flower pots, hanging ornaments here and there or plant spikes, or door wreaths with hearts year round. It’s about adding love as an influence to remind you of love; that you are love and loved. Little hints around your environment all year, helps your mind to remember this and can keep your vibrations up. When your eye wanders the room and catches a heart it will spark that memory of love and subconsciously raise your vibration.
Music for so many people hits them in the soul. It is so powerful. It uses the entire brain to process the information. Playing or listening to music that incites feelings of love is one of the most powerful things that you can do to raise vibrations and shift you if you are in need of shifting! I personally, love Enya, anything piano, jazz, flamenco guitar, and Brazilian jazz for love music. Also, there are many classical pieces that have such tremendous power over me, La Claire de la Lune by Debussy.
This is simplest to do this time of year. There are love themed items every where for purchase. Perhaps though, think of things that can carry through the entire year. One or two heart shaped pillows are cute, but what about just using the colors as inspiration. A single wall painted in hot red, or sultry green, a pale pink, all elicit different types of love. Romantic pictures of a wall of family photos, for instance… There are so many possibilities, a rug, a throw, a pattern on a pillow, chair or couch. I’m sure you can think of more than I can.
Again, this seems obvious, there are so many artists out there that have depicted love in a million ways, but what about art made by your children, framed or on the refrigerator, or made by your pet. If you have an artist in your family, one of their pieces on your wall regardless of subject matter may represent art to you. I received a beautiful little painting from a friend of mine last year for my birthday or Christmas, I can’t remember, but when I see the painting, I am reminded that I am loved. I feel warm and fulfilled. That is the energy I am talking about.
Things you are passionate about:
The last area I want to briefly mention is things that move you, that you feel the full power of your being it. This can range from hobbies to charities to projects. It could be your pets for all I know, but the point is to surround yourself with these things. Studies have been done that prove that petting your animal family member reduces stress and high blood pressure, decreases depression among other things. That is vibrational raising and heart healthy!
In conclusion, there are so many ways to bring love into your life. It doesn’t always have to be a boy or girlfriend. There is self love as well, family love, friendships, pets, etc. The lists of love vibrations are endless. Open your hearts to allow the love in. You deserve it!
