I Want to Be a Messy Woman

Hair tangled in salty-sandy air,

lipstick on my teeth,

mascara smudged from sweat and sunshine,

my blouse wrinkled

from lying in your arms,

damp from hours on the beach,

or morning dew.

I want to be messy

to the point of thoughtlessness,

lost in moments with you.
