Energy Techniques to Calm Systemic Distress

I often teach workshops on various topics including using basic energy techniques to help you get through everyday issues.  This is a handout from one of those workshops.  It fits very well with grounding, but also cleansing techniques.

This first technique is referring to flower essences.  A flower essence is the auric imprint of a flower and the spiritual properties of that flower.  There are several brands, the original being Bach’s flower essences.  I make my own and my rescue potion formula is my own creation, a special blend of flower essences and other energetic properties.  I also add lavender oil to help on a chemical level in the body. Lavender is the mildest of essential oils.  It’s a nervine, working on the boy’s physical nervous system.  It has calming, mild sedative properties.  There are no counter indications.

  1. Spray with Rescue Remedy- Use one spray every 5-10 minutes as needed.      Have the person, or (you do it for them), Spray the Rescue Remedy above the head or around the head and neck area, (avoiding the eyes and mouth.) If the person does not want to be sprayed, spray your own hands, and wave them in the air just above and behind the person to get the remedy in the person’s aura.  This will work just as well. Also, start taking deep breaths.  If you take deep breaths while with someone else they will automatically begin to synch up their breathing with yours.  This calms the nervous system and pulls the two brain hemispheres together,  so that they can function again after separating operating systems in a fight or flight, overwhelm, or anger responses when the body takes over.  This will shorten or end a seizure, relax anger, and calm overwhelm.  If with someone who refuses, focus yourself, (set an intent) to be doing it for them, (in surrogate,) spray yourself with Rescue Remedy.  It will help the other person.
  1. Use Frontal / Occipital Hold ( F/ O Hold) – Have the person or (you do it for them), one hand flat on forehead and the other hand on the occipital bone, (the back of the head where the head bone bulges out and meets the neck), and hold while taking deep breaths.  If you take deep breaths while holding someone else they will automatically begin to synch up their breathing with yours.  This calms the nervous system and pulls the two brain hemispheres together,  so that they can function again after separating operating systems in a fight or flight, overwhelm, or anger responses when the body takes over.  This will shorten or end a seizure, relax anger and calm overwhelm.  If with someone who refuses, focus yourself, to be doing it for them, (in surrogate,) spray yourself with rescue remedy and do the holds on yourself.  It will help the other person.
  2. Use Frontal / Occipital Hold ( F/ O Hold) with Reframe– Have the person or (you do it for them), one hand flat on forehead and the other hand on the occipital bone,(the back of the head where the  head bone bulges out and meets the neck), and hold while taking deep breaths.  Close your eyes.   While maintaining the hold, picture the issue in your mind that you are trying to clear.  Take a snap shot of it.  Now put a picture frame around the snapshot.   Now change the FRAME  to something more pleasing to you.  Change as many things as you can. Some issues do not have a picture or are to scary to envision.  You can envision a word such as fear or spider, whatever the issue is rather than a picture until you do it enough times for the picture to come into focus. You have just created a reframe.  Take a deep breath to lock it in.  Release the hold and open your eyes.
  1. Use Forehead / Navel Hold- Have the person or (you do it for them), one hand flat on forehead and the other hand flat on the Navel, and hold while taking deep breaths. If with someone who refuses, focus yourself to be doing it for them, (in surrogate,) spray yourself with rescue remedy and do the holds on yourself.  It will help the other person.
  1. Use K-27 adjustment- Have the person or (you do it for them), place the thumb and 2 fingers, (pointer and middle fingers) one hand’s width down from the collarbone.  Place the thumb in the dent in the chest on the right or left side, (depending on which hand it is), spread full width between thumb and pointer and place the pointer and middle finger on the other dent in the chest on the right or left side, (depending on which hand it is), and the other hand, using 2 fingers  placed on the solar plexus about 2 inches above the navel.  Jiggle fingers in both positions like adjusting a tie, back and forth and slightly upwards while taking deep breaths.  Reverse hands and repeat.  You can add an affirmation at this time if it seems appropriate.  “I choose to be at a place of choice.”  “I choose to be safe.” If you take deep breaths while holding someone else they will automatically begin to synch up their breathing with yours.  This releases fear from the kidney meridians and activates the solar plexus which is the place of choice, allowing the person to feel safe and in control, able to make a choice decision that they are comfortable with.  Fear is a component of the fight or flight response and when activated, moves the person in to a place on“No Choice” in which the body response is an automatic survival response.  This can happen during overwhelm, anger, frustration, etc. This will relax anger and calm overwhelm.  If with someone who refuses, focus yourself to be doing it for them, (in surrogate,) spray yourself with rescue remedy and do the holds on yourself.  It will help the other person.
  1. Use the hook up – Have the person or (you do it for them), place hands out in front of you,    (like the illustration), cross them over,  turn palms to face one another so that the thumbs face down, interlock fingers and roll interlocked hands and arms inward toward the chest, hold in position while taking deep breaths.  It feels good and you can stay in position until it feels as if you are grounded and calm.  This grounds a person so that they can feel present and ready to move forward. Breathe. After you release the hold, place palm on solar plexus and rub up and down quickly to charge up energy system to replace energy lost during overwhelm. Continue or repeat hold if someone feels dizzy or light headed.  Rub feet on ground.
  1. Tap trauma points- Have the person or (you do it for them),tap with 3 fingers just above the center of the eyebrows, edges of eyes, and below eyes while focusing on the issue at hand. Tap each point gently at least 7 times.  Take deep breaths.  If you take deep breaths while holding someone else they will automatically begin to synch up their breathing with yours.  This release fear, anger,  and trauma by tapping the meridian systems associated with those emotions.  It calms and releases overwhelm or anger responses when the body takes over so that the person can feel in control.
  1. Use Nostril Breath- Place a finger on one side of your nose closing off one nostril. Breathe in and out through the one nostril 4 times. Repeat but this time switch sides. This creates a chemical response in the brain and increases the  Potassium in your right brain and the Magnesium in your left brain and increases clarity in both brain hemispheres.
  2. Use Electrolyte Tap- Place three (3) fingers of your right hand on your left side below the breast area, and three (3) fingers of your left hand on your right dimple spot on your chest below your clavicle.  Tap vigorously 19 times.  Reverse hand positions, left hand on right side and right hand on left chest dimple, Tap 19 times.  This activates your body’s ability charge up    your electrolytes.  This is useful when feeling unbalanced, after rigorous exercise, or when shaky.

Try some or all of these exercises and see what kind of an impact they have on your system when struggling or as part of your daily spiritual hygiene routine.
